It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to PROFEX 2026, a flagship platform that brings together professionals, industry leaders, academia, government agencies, and emerging talents in advancing the nation’s professional ecosystem.
As the apex body representing 23 professional associations and over 120,000 professionals across Malaysia, Balai Ikhtisas Malaysia (BIM) remains committed to fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, professional excellence, innovation, and sustainable development. PROFEX serves as an important avenue to strengthen engagement among stakeholders while promoting knowledge-sharing, professional development, and future-ready solutions for our nation.
This year’s edition reflects our collective aspiration to empower professionals and inspire the next generation towards greater achievements in science, technology, engineering, healthcare, business, and various other professional fields. Through exhibitions, conferences, networking sessions, and educational initiatives, PROFEX 2026 aims to create meaningful impact and opportunities for all participants.

On behalf of the Organising Committee, it is my pleasure to welcome you to PROFEX 2026.
PROFEX 2026 is envisioned as a dynamic platform that connects professionals, industry players, academic institutions, government agencies, and students through meaningful engagement, knowledge exchange, and strategic collaboration. The event aims to highlight the important role of professionals in driving innovation, sustainability, economic growth, and national development.

YBhg. Datuk Dr. Mahathar bin Abd Wahab
Datuk Dr. Mahathar bin Abd Wahab has served as Malaysia’s Director-General of Health since May 2025. A respected emergency physician, he has dedicated his career to advancing emergency care, healthcare policy, and workforce development. His leadership continues to drive innovation, integrated care, and a more resilient healthcare system for Malaysia.
Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr Salleh Mohd Nor
Born in 1940 in Negeri Sembilan, Salleh was a renowned Malaysian forester who retired as Director General of Forest Research Institute Malaysia in 1995. He became the first non-European and non-American President of International Union of Forest Research Organizations, served as Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, and led the Malaysian Nature Society for 30 years. He also visited Antarctica four times and is the oldest Malaysian to hike to Everest Base Camp.
Professor Dr. Wong Chin-Yoong
He is a professor of economics at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Malaysia, specialising in international macroeconomics and development economics. He currently serves as an independent non-executive director cum the Board Chairman for GHS Holdings Bhd and the deputy Treasurer-general of Huazong. He writes a bi-weekly column for Nanyang Siang Pao, hosts a TV programme, and has been a regular resource person for the media.
Dr. Muhammed Anis Bin Abd Wahab
A medical doctor and health policy specialist, I hold a medical degree from the International Medical University Malaysia and a master's in Health Policy, Planning & Financing from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and the London School of Economics as a Chevening Scholar. I previously served in the Ministry of Health Malaysia, where I led national health financing initiatives and co-chaired the drafting of the Health White Paper (2022–2023). I am currently seconded to ProtectHealth Corporation, supporting strategic healthcare financing and system reform.
Academician Dato' Ir (Dr.) Lee Yee Cheong
Academician Dato’ Ir. (Dr.) Lee Yee Cheong is a renowned Malaysian engineer and science leader. He has held key leadership roles in international engineering and sustainable development organizations, including the World Federation of Engineering Organizations and International Science, Technology and Innovation Centre for South-South Cooperation (ISTIC). He is widely recognized for his contributions to engineering, science, education, and international cooperation, and has received numerous national and international awards.
LAr. Khariza binti Abd Khalid
LAr. Khariza Abd Khalid is the Head of Gamuda Parks with over 20 years of experience in landscape architecture. Since joining Gamuda in 2003, she has led sustainable township and park developments, championing biodiversity conservation, ecological restoration, and community engagement. A graduate of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), she is committed to creating developments that balance urban growth with environmental sustainability.
Dato' Mary Lim Thiam Suan
Justice Dato’ Mary Lim Thiam Suan is the President of the AIAC Court of Arbitration and a retired Federal Court of Malaysia judge. She holds LLB (Hons) and LL.M degrees and serves in numerous international judicial and arbitration roles, including with the UNDP, DIFC Courts, and the Bahrain International Commercial Court. She is widely recognized for her expertise in arbitration, commercial law, and judicial integrity.
Datuk Dr. Kuljit Singh
Datuk Dr. Kuljit Singh is a Consultant ENT Surgeon and Medical Director at Prince Court Medical Centre. A leader in minimally invasive sinus surgery, he also serves as President of the Association of Private Hospitals Malaysia and the Asian Hospital Federation, advocating for healthcare advancement in Malaysia and across Asia.
Raja Singham
Raja Singham is the Founder and Chief Future Officer of the BAC Education Group, with over 30 years of experience in education. He champions accessible, future-focused learning through the “LEARN Different” philosophy and has led initiatives in upskilling, digital education, and social impact. He also serves as Pro-Chancellor of University Malaysia of Computer Science & Engineering (UNIMY) and is an advocate for education, entrepreneurship, and community development.
Azrul Mohd Khalib
With a background in genetics and public health policy, Azrul has worked as a health development and programme policy specialist for more than 25 years. He has extensive experience working on strategic health system issues related to access to healthcare, sexual reproductive health, HIV and AIDS, gender-based violence, and humanitarian assistance.
Azrul is currently the CEO of the Galen Centre for Health and Social Policy. and co-founder of the CodeBlue health news website. He is a co-presenter with BFM 89.9’s Health & Living programme.
Dr. Kev Lim
Dr. Kev Lim is the founder and CEO of Qmed Asia, a healthtech company providing AI-powered hospital solutions across Southeast Asia. He specializes in clinical AI, smart hospital systems, and healthcare workflow optimization, with technologies used by thousands of healthcare providers and millions of patients.
Kenneth Chan
Kenneth Chan is the CEO of Webull Malaysia, with 18 years of experience in banking and finance. His expertise spans foreign exchange, asset management, and market development, with a strong focus on retail investor empowerment and financial technology. He previously served as Executive Vice President of Bursa Malaysia, where he contributed to strengthening Malaysia’s capital market infrastructure.
Dr. Mazlan Abbas
Dr. Mazlan Abbas is the co-founder and CEO of FAVORIOT Sdn. Bhd. Recognised among the Top 50 Global Thought Leaders in IoT and Top 100 IoT Influencers, he has extensive experience in telecommunications, wireless communications, and digital innovation. He previously held leadership roles at REDtone IoT, MIMOS Berhad, and CELCOM, and is a prominent speaker on IoT, Industry 4.0, and Smart Cities. He also serves on industry advisory panels and has held adjunct professorships at several universities.
Emeritus Professor Tan Sri Dato' Dzulkifli Abdul Razak
Professor Dzulkifli Abdul Razak is an Emeritus Professor at Universiti Sains Malaysia and Adjunct Professor at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak. A trained pharmacist and pharmacologist, he has held key leadership roles, including Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Sains Malaysia and Rector of the International Islamic University Malaysia. He is widely recognised for advancing sustainable, values-driven higher education and promoting the concept of Sejahtera, a holistic approach to human well-being and sustainable development. He was awarded Malaysia’s National Academic Laureate in 2017.
Dato' Ts. ChLT (Dr.) Abd Radzak Abd Malek
A long serving member of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and a veteran in the Logistics and Transport Industry especially in KTMB, with a duration of combined experience of almost 50 years locally and globally. I will always focus on the policy of everyone matters, working to build influence with governments state and federal. Collaboration with departments and agencies, NGOs, business councils and trade commissions whilst ensuring to remain open and inclusive, ready to listen and to understand differences. Ready to adapt the new normal and the new reality at the quickest time going forward for the future.
Professor Dr. Shamsuddin Jusop
Dr. Shamshuddin Jusop is a distinguished soil scientist and professional geologist with over five decades of service at Universiti Putra Malaysia. A former Professor of Soil Science, he is renowned for his contributions to soil mineralogy, soil chemistry, and crop production, particularly in rice, maize, cocoa, rubber, and oil palm cultivation. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia and an Honorary Member of the Royal Academy for Overseas Sciences of Belgium.
Dato' Dr. Hartini Zainudin
Hartini Zainudin is a Malaysian child rights activist and co-founder of Yayasan Chow Kit, the country’s first 24-hour crisis center for vulnerable children. She is also Vice President of Voice of the Children and is launching Madhya’s Gift to support underserved sick children. Known for her work with organizations including UNICEF and UNHCR, she advocates for child protection, statelessness, and adoption rights. Hartini recently published her first children’s book, The Foundling.
Dr. Khor Swee Kheng
Dr. Khor Swee Kheng is a Malaysian physician and health systems specialist, currently serving as CEO of Angsana Health and Honorary Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong. With over 20 years of international experience across healthcare, pharmaceuticals, academia, and public policy, he has worked with leading organisations including the WHO, United Nations University, and Malaysia’s Ministry of Health. He is widely recognised for his contributions to health system transformation and has authored more than 210 publications.
Prof. Ts. Dr. Mai Chun Wai
Prof. Chun Wai Mai is a Professor at IMU University, serving as Deputy Director of Research Strategy & Innovation and Head of the Centre for Cancer and Stem Cell Research. His core research focuses on cell biology and translational medicine. He has led over 60 research grants (> total RM3.2 million), published >100 papers in peer-reviewed journals, and won numerous national and international awards. A chartered scientist, he holds key roles such as Vice President II of the Malaysian Pharmacists Society and Chairperson of YSN-ASM, driving policy and global collaborations. His work bridges academia-industry to deliver affordable, accessible healthcare for low-resource settings.
Dr. Khairul Hafidz Alkhair bin Khairul Amin
Dr. Khairul Hafidz Alkhair bin Khairul Amin is a Malaysian public health physician and healthcare leader with expertise in health systems strengthening, quality improvement, clinical governance, and professional development. He contributes to national healthcare policies, quality standards, medical education, and initiatives in healthcare governance, digital health, and evidence-based public health practice.
